LaVar Ball has said could have beaten Michael Jordan in his prime. He likely will not be saying the same about a match with Hulk Hogan after his appearance with his sons on WWE Raw in Los Angeles on Monday night.
The Ball family’s eccentric and larger-than-life front man oddly sprinted to the ring — arms flapping — with middle son LaMelo walking behind after being introduced. LaVar Ball then failed in his attempt to run and roll into the squared circle, ending up flat on his back with his leg in the air, before an interview session with the Intercontinental champion The Miz.
Lakers first-round pick Lonzo Ball, whom Lavar introduced, joined them in ring, surrounded by mannequins wearing, of course, Big Baller Brand T-shirts. It was Lonzo’s first appearance at Staples Center as a member of the Lakers, but the night was not about him. LaVar and the family company got plenty of air time during the nearly nine-minute segment.
The Miz, who was rebuffed in an attempt to forge a partnership with Big Baller Brand, told LaVar Ball he was in the ring with “the Michael Jordan of WWE.” LaMelo Ball was then told by his upset father to “handle his lightweight,” as LaVar ran to stand on the bottom rope near the turnbuckle.
